Dr. Tharupathi Munasinghe, a prominent Sri Lankan composer, music director, sound ethnographer, and academic, boasts an impressive and diverse portfolio in the arts and academic sectors. Coming from a musical lineage, his father, Austin Munasinghe, a renowned music composer in Sri Lanka, and his mother, Sepalini Achirawathie Yalagama, a dedicated music teacher, have been instrumental in shaping his career.

Tharupathi's multifaceted career encompasses significant contributions across various artistic fields, including cinema, stage plays, and television series. He has composed music for an impressive 32 television series, showcasing his versatility and creativity in the medium. His foray into film productions includes 05 film productions, where his compositions have added depth and cultural resonance. His contributions to theatre are also marked by his involvement in 10 stage theatre productions, each reflecting his deep connection with Sri Lankan culture and traditions.

His work, mostly themed around the rich tapestry of Sri Lankan culture, has earned him numerous accolades and awards for his music and sound design.
